A private hot tub is the single most-requested feature in this market, and for good reason — it's the thing you'll actually use every night of the trip, in every season. Whatever you end up booking, here's what's worth checking before you commit:
- Private or shared. Ask directly whether the tub is on your own deck or shared with other guests or units.
- Size and seating. A tub that fits two is a different trip than one that fits six — check it actually matches your group.
- Servicing and sanitization. Ask when it was last serviced and how often it's cleaned between guests. Don't assume; ask.
- Winter usability. Some tubs aren't rated to stay hot in the coldest months. If you're booking a winter trip, confirm it's usable, not just present.
- Privacy. A covered or fenced deck matters more than most people expect once they're actually in it.
Hot tubs pair especially well with a fall or winter trip, when the trails are quieter and the deck is the better place to end the day.
